A few dedicated professionals with established experience and training working with persons with brain injuries, mental illness, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities noticed an unfortunate trend over the years. We discovered that persons who needed help due to their special situations often experienced social isolation or had few hobbies within which they participated. We found that in order to get help, these persons had to enroll in either a residential or outpatient program which required they travel to and attend a specific program location. Therefore, the best opportunity for a relationship was with other "clients" enrolled at the program. We believe a better solution could be made.

We created MyMichiganFriends.com to allow all interested persons with special needs, living in certain areas of Michigan, the opportunity to meet and establish social relationships with others of similar age, who share common interests and live nearby. Your job is to tell us about yourslef and register for a trip. We'll match you with other Travelers, take care of the trip details and pick you up in our recreational vehicle. We'll give you the option of meeting us at our trip destination. Our trips contain activities related to sports, outdoor adventures, entertainment, the arts, and volunteering. We offer professional skill instruction with many of our activities.
